Mindfulness Meditation

What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present.

Meditation is exploring, not erasing, the present moment as it is.

Mindfulness meditation is the training of the mind, inviting us to voluntarily bring our attention to the present moment, without judgment. It is a possibility to be present to what we are experiencing in the moment, to what we are feeling emotionally and physically.

Why practice mindfulness meditation?

Human beings are complex. Our brain is configured to always want more, even when our needs are met. Most of our actions in our daily lives are done in auto-pilot mode. In addition to that, our mind continuously wanders, thoughts come and go non-stop, emotions invade us, impulses inhabit us.

We get lost in our thoughts
We identify with our emotions, our beliefs
We ruminate and procrastinate
We often are slaves to our impulses (eating, shopping, surfing social networks, binging series…)
Most of the time we are caught up in those states of mind, not even noticing it.
Mindfulness Meditation trains us to become aware of the wandering of the mind – PAUSE – and redirect our awareness to the present moment.

Mindfulness helps us:
Step out of auto-pilot mode
Choose to let go of our mental construction
Intentionally redirect our attention in the present moment
And eventually act differently.

I am a certified Mindfulness meditation teacher ((MBSR) Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and a certified instructor of Mindfulness in Schools as well as an Astanga and Vinyasa Yoga teacher (YTT 200hrs).

My mission is to teach you meditation so you can integrate it into your daily life.

Meditation is a tool in how to relate to oneself and others. By taking care of yourself, you give yourself the attention you deserve. By taking care of yourself, you have a positive impact on those around you. The practice of meditation trains us to regulate our emotions and impulses, reduce overall arousal and emotional reactivity. Doing so we develop resilience. We are able to experience challenging emotions or difficult life situations with more perspective. So rather than reacting to “it”, we cultivate a better ability to cope and respond to what is happening to us. We learn to observe our mental activity and no longer identify with it. We gain a deeper sense of calmness.
