Emotional eating is eating as a way to suppress or soothe negative emotions, such as stress, anger, fear, boredom, sadness and loneliness. You turn to food for comfort— consciously or unconsciously.
It keeps you stuck in an unhealthy cycle where the root of the emotion is never addressed. It often leads to weight gain and you feel increasingly powerless over both food and your emotions. Over time it can also lead to negative body image and low self-esteem.
The good news is that you can learn a healthier and more compassionate way to support yourself when you start identifying your personal triggers.
1. Understand your emotional eating
2. Identify your trigger(s)
3. Accept and embrace your emotions
4. Identify your real needs and your life values
5. Support yourself with healthy habits
6. Implement lasting changes
The naturopathic approach is one that treats the body as a whole. The goal is always to find the root cause of an issue, rather than treating symptoms with quick fixes or “bandaid” approaches….
An individualized and positive, progressive and sustainable approach to regain vitality and well-being through a healthy diet adapted to your needs.
In a non-judgmental and supportive space allowing for a more positive and empowering attitude towards menopause and embrace this stage as an opportunity for self-knowledge and growth.
